A Quick Development Update

Happy Friday backers!
Today I just want to do a quick little check in to let you know that everything is still progressing nicely and we're still on track for you to get your Cheat Sheet Bundles this month.
As a reminder: The add-ons have been sent out via Backerkit/DTRPG, so that includes things like A Night of Adventure, the 2014 cheat sheets, and the SIDEQUEST books.
However, if your pledge only included the 2024/5.5 Class Cheat Sheets, you won't have received them yet. You'll be getting them later this month as expected.
I've had a few emails from folks who were confused by my last update on that so I just wanted to clear things up for you.
Progress
This stage of fulfillment is very "boring" from a showcase perspective because it's a lot of me doing a hundred micro adjustments to every page and spending 2 hours making tiny tweaks to wording - it's not flashy or sexy 😅
But, behind the scenes, things are coming along nicely! At the moment I am working through the sheets in rough form, which means getting the initial text in place, understanding how many features are on the page, adding in the artwork etc.
Here's an example of that with the Bard. You can see how boxes aren't aligned yet and there's still a lot of cleanup to be done.
My typical approach is to get all the sheets roughed in to this point and then go back and make the micro adjustments in one big pass, which involves fixing alignment, adding little page flourishes and all that kind of stuff.
Here you can see a WIP of the Wizard sheet which had a polish pass on it for the initial campaign duration to use in promo images and you see some of those minor changes in place.
From there I will be doing the print-ready B&W pass in one big chunk too, which will look something like this.
The B&W pass isn't just a filter slapped on top, but all the colors get tweaked so they can look their best with the best contrast for home printing.
Fulfillment Order
As we get closer to the finish line for this project, here's a little breakdown of how you're going to be receiving your rewards.
Existing Add-Ons - COMPLETE
The add-ons have been sent out via Backerkit/DTRPG, so that includes things like A Night of Adventure, the 2014 cheat sheets, and the SIDEQUEST books.
2024/5.5 Cheat Sheets- IN PROGRESS
The main cheat sheets will get sent and updated in a couple of waves.
- As soon as the sheets are content-complete I will send out the PNG and basic color PDF versions so you can start using them right away.
- As soon as the B&W versions are finished, they will be added to the DTRPG page and updated automatically.
- As soon as the interactive & accessible PDFs are finished, the PDFs on DTRPG will be updated.
Stretch Goals - UPCOMING
The stretch goals will follow on from the cheat sheets, with the blank sheets coming first once I have prepared a bundle and the .af files for them.
The player reference cards and beginner character sheets will follow, and the started adventure leaflet will come last.
Whether the stretch goals go out to you in July largely depends on the weather. If we have another heatwave in the UK like we had last month, I will be out of action for the duration (the heat plays havoc with my migraines and most of the meds I'm on for my chronic illness make me super heat-sensitive, so I'm fighting for my life during heatwaves 🤣).
Outstanding Surveys

Add-On Items Sent!

Happy Wednesday, backers I hope you are well!
You will have started to get emails via backerkit today with links to all the add-on downloads, which includes:
- 5e (2014) sheet bundles
- SIDEQUEST digital copies
- A Night of Adventure
- Mooncursed
Basically everything except the core pledge.
I thought that bakerkit automated this, but completely forgot I needed to go in and manually push out the distribution for this, so you should have gotten this before now and that is totally my bad, I'm sorry!
If you have any issues with the distribution of the codes, or don't get an email from backerkit regarding it, just pop an email to [email protected] and I will get it sorted for you.
There are also around a dozen or so of you that still need to complete your surveys so please do that ASAP!
As for the progress on the class cheat sheets, things are coming along nicely and we're still well on track for July fulfillment. I've had a couple rough patches with my health over the last couple months, but that's part of why the deadline is what it is and it shouldn't impact the final fulfillment timeline at all.
Next week I should have some shiny pictures to show off for you to give you a sense of how some of the sheets are coming along, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

1 Week Left To Answer Your Survery 🕐

Happy Monday backers!
There's just 1 week left to fill in the survey!
I'll be closing the survey's next Monday, May 11th, and sending out all the add-on stuff later that week, so if you've not filled in your survey yet, you've not got long to go. There's still about 10% of you who haven't completed it.
If you can't find the link in your emails to fill in the survey you can click below and follow the steps to recover your survey.
When I lock down the survey you'll get a final notice email which will give you one last change to change any details, then a few days later you'll get the codes for any add-ons you picked up during the campaign or in the survey 😊

Surveys Go Live This Week 📋

The Backerkit Surveys Are Going Live!
I've been given the go-ahead from backerkit that everything under the hood is looking good so the surveys will be going live this week.
This will begin with a "smoke test" which will see 5% of you receive your surveys to fill out to make sure there are no unexpected issues, and providing that is all good, the remaining surveys will be getting sent.
How to Fill Out Your Survey
If this is your first time using backerkit or you need a little refresher, here's what you will need to do.
Step 1: Email from Backerkit
To begin you'll receive an email from Backerkit inviting you to complete your survey. This will be sent to the email account associated with your kickstarter account!
Step 2: The Survey
When you follow the link in the email it will bring you to the survey where you will confirm your pledge and add and add-ons you are interested in.
If you backed without a pledge you can also switch to a pledge level here.
You'll then be asked a few questions, including what your email address is for file delivery, this is where I will be sending your DTRPG codes to, so it's important to use an email you actually use.
Next you'll be able to add any add-ons you are interested in to your pledge. If you selected add-ons during the campaign, these should appear in your basket automatically as paid.
Finally, you'll finalize your survey and pay for any new add-ons you've added.
Then you just need to sit back and wait 😊

We Are Funded 🎉

Greetings backers, the project has come to a close and we are officially funded 🎉
I want to start by saying a huge thank you to all of you for supporting the project through pledges, shares, and positive encouragement across social media.
As a reminder of everything you'll be getting as part of your bundle:
The Next Few Weeks
Kickstarter typically takes 2-3 weeks to process and transfer payments to creators, so it'll be a little bit before the funds get released to me, but there's still plenty to do in that time.
Next week I will be sitting down to plan out my final revised schedule for work on the project now it's over and I know what we're working with, and in the next few weeks I'll be building out the backerkit pledge manager.
I expect the pledge manager to go live in April so that anyone who wants to add extra add-ons to their pledges has the option to, and I can collect your details for fulfillment.
In terms of the order of how I currently plan on doing things;
- The core 12 sheets with subsclasses will come first. You'll get a version of these as soon as they are print-ready, but they won't have the form-fillable options in that first iteration. The form-fillable functionality takes a bit of extra work so you'll get the printable versions first so you can start using them while the other features are finished.
- Next will be the blank sheets, which will go out to you after the the core sheets are finished.
- The player reference cards, character sheet and pregens, and beginner adventure will probably all get developed alongside each other and it will depend on which I get through first.
How I'll Update You
Expect things to get quiet in the updates department until the pledge manager is ready . I'll be working away in the background but there won't be much to show for it yet.
Once the pledge manager is ready I will post an update to let you know, and from that point expect updates every few weeks about the progress in the project, depending on how much i have to share. I want to keep you properly informed of progress but don't want to spam you with nothing-burger updates.
