Latest Updates from Our Project:

Final Stretch Foal Unlocked! 72 Hours to go!
4 months ago – Mon, Mar 09, 2026 at 03:52:38 AM

Happy Monday backers, I am super excited to say that we have hit our final stretch goal and unlocked the beginner adventure 🎉

This short one-shot will be written specifically for new players and GMs and designed to print as a roll-fold leaflet, making it easy to carry to the table.

The banner image above shows a proof-of-concept adventure I created for this format. The final adventure will be newly written for this campaign.

The adventure will include:

  • A map of the location on the back center panel.
  • A list of adventure background information, dungeon features, and notes on resolving the adventure on the back left panel.
  • Regular read-aloud/breakout boxes to make understanding and conveying information easy.
  • Information on optional monsters to adjust difficulty.
  • Clearly listed loot.
  • Clear icons which tell you what sort of room/area you are in at a glance.

There's still a few days on the CREATURE TYPE POLL to determine what type of creatures will be the focus of this adventure, but Constructs are currently in the lead 🤖

The full bundle of products for this KS is now unlocked! All 12 class cheat sheets, blank fillable sheets, player reference cards, a beginner character sheet (plus pregens), and the new beginner adventure, all for a single pledge!

The Final days

We're coming into the final 72 hours of the campaign now with everything unlocked. I know that it's typical for KS projects to ramp up and try and stuff as much stuff into the rewards via stretch goals as possible in the final days, but if you've been part of an Icarus Games campaign before you know that's not how I like to do things.

My number one focus is making sure you get the rewards you pledged for on time and with as little delay and drama as possible, and stretch-goal bloat is one of the most common causes of delays on Kickstarter, so I’d rather focus on delivering the rewards you pledged for on time.

With everything now unlocked, the bundle is complete. If you’ve been waiting to see what the final rewards would look like before pledging, this is the best time to jump in. And if you know a friend or fellow GM who might find these tools useful, sharing the campaign in these final days helps more people discover it before the project closes.

Greetings backers! As we head into the final weekend I wanted to highlight some of the add-ons available in the campaign and show you exactly what you can pick up to expand your bundle.

We're getting close to hitting our final stretch goal and unlocking that beginner adventure, so if you've not already shared the campaign, now is the perfect time to do so! And if you've been considering any of these add-ons, now is a great time to upgrade your pledge and help push us over the line!

If anything here catches your eye, here's how to add it to your pledge:

  • From the campaign page, click the manage pledge button at the top.
  • Next click change your pledge.
  • If you don't want to change what reward tier you are on, and only want to add add-ons, click continue on the next page until you see the list of add-ons.
  • Select which add-ons you would like to add to your pledge and click continue.
  • Click confirm changes.

You will also be able to add these items during the pledge manager!

2014 Cheat Sheet Bundle

The bundle includes the 12 core classes and subclasses for D&D 2014 (plus blank fillable sheets), as well as a bundle of extras including ancestry cards, a player reference screen, a session 0 guide, a character creation guide, and more!

  • Read-aloud boxed text
  • Clear design notes to help you run each scene
  • Reminder boxes so you don't forget key plot details.
  • A map by Dyson Logos

The book contains the following adventures;

  • The Blight of Fairwall (1st Level): Cure a cursed forest before it swallows another village.
  • The First Seal (1st Level): Stop an apocalyptic cult from summoning their devourer god.
  • The Congress of Seven (3rd Level):  Recover a powerful magical artifact before it can fall into the wrong hands.
  • Final Journey of the Couatl (3rd Level): Transport a set of cursed armor and resist its growing influence.
  • Stalker of the Drifts (6th Level): Track a missing child and defeat the creature haunting the frozen wilds.
  • Happy Death Day (11th Level): Attend a party where the other guests are secretly vampires!
  • The Tower of the Bone Devil (13th Level): Save a captive wizard who has been imprisoned in hell!

The book was written for 2014 D&D but primarily uses monsters which also appear in the 2024 monster manual so can be run in either version of 5e with no problem.

Extra Community Copies

Free Resources

While we're talking about add-ons, this is a perfect time to point you to two other places to get free stuff from me!

Icarus Games Free Resources 🔗

First up there's the free resources section of my website, which has a bunch of free tools to make your life as a GM or player easier!

Icarus Games Newsletter  🔗

Next up is my newsletter. When you sign up you get instant access to my GM toolkit, which is a spreadsheet packed with tools and generators to make life as a GM easier, and I'm always adding new stuff to it!

Then you get a free monster or other tool/resource sent to your inbox every month!

If you have questions about any of the add-ons post them down in the comments below and I will answer them (and update the FAQ if necessary!)

Reference Cards Unlocked! 1 Week to Go
5 months ago – Thu, Mar 05, 2026 at 05:23:44 AM

Greetings backers, welcome to the final week of the campaign 🎉

We have just unlocked the player reference cards, which means everyone who backs the cheat sheet bundle is going to get these included in their pledge.

These small form factor cards tell players what basic things they can do on their turn, and will answer some of the most commonly asked player rules questions, leaving you as the GM to focus on the scene and the moment!

Community Copies

We've also hit our next community copy milestone, meaning more copies added to the pool for schools, community groups, and anyone who might not otherwise be able to afford them.

Thank you for helping make that possible.

A Quick Explainer

I just want to take a moment to talk about why this campaign has been quieter than usual, too! Pretty much immediately after launch I had a bit of a cancer scare that took up a basically all of my energy and attention. Thankfully things are looking okay and it seems I am completely fine, but it did mean I wasn't around for my usual level of promotion and updates for a big chunk of the campaign. Fortunately, everything is good and it will have no impact on fulfillment!

Thank you all for the support and patience while that was going on behind the scenes.

Final Stretch Goal: Beginner Adventure - £3,000

Our last stretch goal for this campaign is going to be a beginner-friendly adventure. This short one-shot will be specifically written with new players and GMs in mind and made to be printed as a roll fold leaflet, making it super portable.

The image in the banner above is from a proof of concept adventure I made for this format, and not the final adventure itself.

It will include;

  • Clearly listed loot
  • Clear icons which tell you what sort of room/area you are in at a glance.

I thought it would be fun to get some community input on what creature type should be the focus of this starter adventure, so have put together a poll for you to vote on, which you can find below

CREATURE TYPE POLL

Over the next week as we near the end of the campaign I'm going to be sharing some closer looks at some of the add-ons we have available, so keep an eye out for that.

Second Stretch Goal Unlocked!
5 months ago – Wed, Feb 25, 2026 at 05:09:40 AM

Greetings backers, we have smashed through another stretch goal which means the beginner character sheets, along with the level 1 pregen characters will be added to your bundles!

So, what's next?

Next Goal: Player Reference Cards - £2,500

Keeping with the theme of building a pack to make learning and teaching the game as easy as possible and creating the ultimate onboarding tool, how about some reference cards!

These small form factor cards tell players what basic things they can do on their turn, and will answer some of the most commonly asked player rules questions, leaving you as the GM to focus on the scene and the moment!

If there was one rule you would HAVE to include on a reference card for your players, what would it be? What are they always forgetting? Let me know down below!

First Stretch Goal Unlocked!
5 months ago – Fri, Feb 13, 2026 at 02:51:09 PM

Hey backers!

Our first stretch goal is unlocked 🥳

That means all your pledges will include a blank sheet bundle to allow you to make your own cheat sheets for classes and subclasses.

I will be making a set of basic options for this to include plenty of variety to cover classes and subclasses with various amounts and densities of rules, but I will also include the .af Affinity files for the blank sheets so that you can use the free Affinity software to add your own images and any other requirements you have.

Next Goal: Beginner Character Sheets - £2,000

I run for brand new players pretty frequently, and one of the most common things that comes up is people being overwhelemed by their character sheet.

Multiple, full pages of dense information can be really overwhelming for someone who is brand new to TTRPGs, especially when they don't need more than half of the information on the sheet!

So I have started using a condensed character sheet when I run for newbies, and it has been really successful. If we reach this next milestone I want to take that concept and refine it to make the best beginner sheet possible.

I'm talking color/number coded elements so you as the GM can say to a new player something like "What's your armor class, it's in section 1 on your sheet" to make things easier for them to look it up and understand.

These sheets will include dice icons which will be color coded to the most common color way for polyhedrals (or blank for you to color yourself), which lets you say to new players "roll the d20, that's the blue dice".

This stretch goal will also include a set of level 1 pregenerated characters for our iconic heroes using these character sheets.

Using these beginner character sheets in combination with the class cheat sheets is going to make it so easy to introduce brand new players to the game. Just lay the cheat sheets down on the table, let your players choose which hero they think looks the coolest, and then hand them that cheat sheet and their beginner character sheet and you'll be good to go!

I'd love to know what kind of information or details you would like to see on these sheets down in the comments!

Much love
